This painting has a funny story. Originally, I bought the frame for another painting. As I was trying to put the painting in, I broke the frame in less than five minutes. I was upset but it seemed such a waste. So I decided to transform a broken frame into an original painting. "Getting out of my shell" is about getting out of your comfort zone and doing things you were scared to do before. This year I am planning to do a lot of those things. I have started running and want to write poetry and music. I have fear of starting, fear of failing, fear of rejection and judgement. But looking at my painting, I am reminding myself that I am getting out of my shell.
