There have been many times in my life when I have been incredibly lucky. In 2020, two weeks before I was about to leave Belarus, I went on my last protest. We were ambushed by the police. I remember thinking "That's it, I am going to prison now". But magically, two policemen run past me and acted as if I was invisible to them. So now, 4 years later I keep thinking about that day and how lucky I was not to be taken. I am free and I can create art, walk around, I can buy myself flowers and indulge in life's simple pleasures. If I was taken that day, I would probably be rotting in prison. So every time I paint, I keep thinking about how lucky I am.
